The Creepy Guy on 1st Avenue

Almost every day I try to walk from the bus tunnel on 5th & Jackson to work. The only problem is during my 5am-ish walk there's this creepy guy on 1st Avenue right near the "home plate parking" sign. To be honest, at any other hour, he would seem harmless. He doesn't look or smell like a homeless guy. Probably the creepiest (is that a word?) thing about him is that he is there every day and sometimes pushes the crossing the street button so it looks like he's going somewhere, but continues to return to his same spot under the sign.

I have decided I'm going to make up a story on why he is there...

Once upon a time, there was a man, Jerry, and his wife, Nancy, who absolutely loved to go to Mariner's games. Their budget could only accomidate for one or two a year, but they made the most of it every time. They decked themselves out in every piece of Mariner's blue clothing they could find and were one of those fans who would be there an hour early to every game to watch the players warm up. On their way in they would always stop and pick up some kettle corn from the street vendor in front of the home plate parking lot.

Sadly, last December, Nancy was in a car accident and left Jerry's life forever.

Now, every morning during baseball season, Jerry can be seen standing in one of the spots the couple most adored. He chooses to go early in the morning so he can have a nice, quiet moment to cherish the memories of his late wife.

... The truth is, I still won't go near him. I'm not stupid. Honestly, my first impression was that he was a drug dealer, but isn't my story so much better than that? :)
