Spring == Cherry blossoms, tulips and ... snow?

On a busy Friday afternoon, I was absolutely dying to get home and curl up on the couch with my glass of Two-buck-chuck and some Netflixed DVDs. To my dismay the traffic gods wanted to keep me as far away from this as possible trapping me in a sea of break lights due to snow in fucking April. I proceeded to illegally text my friends down in CA to let them know how pissed I was about the snow.

Once I got home, however, I remembered how much I love watching snow fall and how freaking cool it was that there was snow falling on cherry blossom trees.

This afternoon I took advantage of this anomaly and had, what I thought would be a fantastic hour-long jog. Seriously, what could be more awesome than running around spring flowers and trees and snow men when the temperature is up in the 50's? Well, as it turns out, the trees that had dared to grow their beautiful spring leaves gathered enough snow to actually break in half. It was a sad scene...

I also remembered why I hate running on weekend afternoons. There's the guy who drives through giant puddles right next to pedestrians and splashes them with gross street puddle water. Then there's the guy who drives over random items such as old Gatorade bottles that always seem to fly at passer-bys. I flipped off both of these people. Then, by far my least favorite, the guy who thinks it would be really cool if they yell, "suck my dick" at me. Really?!? Really? What the fuck do you think you're going to get out of it. I got this not one, but two times. Seriously, what was it? My cut off sweats? My Mulan-as-a-boy-like hairstyle? Fuck off.

At the end of the day, this weather is probably a once in a lifetime event. I really should enjoy it. I just need to remember that I can't expect the rest of the world to try to be enjoyable as well.
