Speaking as a person who absolutely loves musicals (not to mention can't get through a day of work without my iPod), the musical in my real life is really getting to me. By "my musical," I mean the many people around me, continuously providing a soundtrack with toneless noises that they think is singing. In the car, doing dishes at my parent's house, even in the locker room this morning. I can't get away from it. Seriously? Do people think they're really impressing anyone? I also can't say I help the situation at all. It's not like I stop them. Now I know how there are so many amazingly horrible people on shows like American Idol who are absolutely convinced they are amazing.
I'll admit, I went through my phase in life where I thought my singing voice was actually better than horrible. I remember when my grandma used to ask me, "are you singing or talking?" Someday I'll be old and won't give a shit about using these ever-so blunt and passive-aggressive rhetorical questions.
There is one exception to this annoyance and her name is Steph. Steph does that thing where she turns any sentance into a song (especially when alcohol is in the mix) and, surprisingly enough, does it without being annoying.
