Greens and Blues

I was driving home today (yes, it is currently 3:30, but I went to work at 4 am!) and was singing along with Mr. Big's "To Be With You." Once I got home, I wanted to figure out what the line "Waiting on the lines of greens and blues" means and found that there are many people asking the same question.

The best answer I found actually made a lot more sense than I thought it would.

"The line 'waiting in a line of greens and blues' seem to mean in a lot of ways different from other people's views. Some say it's holding on through incredible jealousy and sadness over someone you can't have because she's with someone else. We can easily associate these colors with feelings commonly attached to it."

To be honest, I was just annoyed with thinking I was singing the wrong words.
